Autumn walk to Bluebell Woods.

24 November 2023

We had a lovely walk to Bluebell Woods in the Autumn sunshine. We explored the different signs of Autumn we could see. We also collect some different leaves. We brought these back to the classroom and made some very creative leaf rubbings. We had great fun and are already excited for our next trip to the woods.

Science Week!

21 November 2023

We used the theme of 'The Human Body' to complete different experiments during Science Week. We made models of teeth and investigated the effects of tooth decay using a range of foods. As well as this, we learned how DNA was discovered and made models of the double helix structure, which was discovered in the 1950s. The boys also completed wonderful projects in groups and studied topics such as 'Famous Scientists' and 'The Solar System'. Finally, we had a demonstration of a self driving car, which was very exciting.

20 November 2023

Egg shells are very strong but also fragile! Two of the boys stood on a dozen eggs today and the eggs held their weight! 💪💪 We looked at the shell after to see how thin it was.

Self Driving Cars

During Science Week, 2nd and 4th class were treated to a fantastic demonstration of a self driving car. Thank you so much to Daniel Mc Cormack & Justin for volunteering his time to show the boys. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves 🚘
